MARQUÊS DE POMBAL
The concept of lighting Praça Marquês de Pombal was to provide orientation cues to drivers after the new design of the roundabout. The interior ring is lit with a warm orange colour- leading to orange streets, and the outer ring is lit with a whiter colour temperature- leading to whiter streets.
The statue is meant to stand out in the spatial hierarchy by having its pavement lit with the same colour temperature as the outer ring of the roundabout.
The cycling path is punctuated by dots of light that converge to the centre of Parque Eduardo VII.
